PET HEALTH

Preventive & Wellness Care

We recommend annual wellness examinations and the proper vaccination protocol to protect your pet from potentially fatal diseases. We also strongly urge our clients to take advantage of the highly effective products that are now available for the prevention of flea and tick infestations, heartworm disease and internal parasites.

Urgent Care

Waltz Animal Clinic schedules a veterinarian in-house 10 hours per day, 5 days per week, plus 4 hours on Saturday mornings, to provide immediate care for injured or ill animals.

Surgery

We perform a wide range of surgical procedures using the safest veterinary anesthesia and sterilization available. These procedures include ovariohysterectomies (spays), neuters, orthopedics, and soft tissue surgeries such as intestinal and bladder surgery, biopsies, tumor removal and wound repair.

Dentistry

Pets have teeth too! Neglecting dental care leads to foul breath, painful gums, tooth loss and internal health issues. A dental exam is included with your pet's annual physical examination. If excessive tartar and plaque are noted, a thorough cleaning can be performed using our ultrasonic dental equipment. We also perform extractions, gum repair and preventive sealing.

Radiology, Pharmacy & Lab Services

Waltz Animal Clinic offers complete in-house radiographic services and a full pharmacy of veterinary drugs and medicines. Our in-house laboratory provides immediate results on many common tests. We also employ an outside professional veterinary lab, with overnight service, for more extensive profiles and testing.

Nutritional Counseling

The old saying "we are what we eat" especially applies to our pets. As a part of our total health care philosophy and concern for your pet, we offer nutritional counseling to help you find an appropriate, high quality food to meet your pet's specific needs. Our practice stocks a complete inventory of Hill's Science and Prescription Diets. We also carry a wide range of Royal Canin and Purina prescription diets and will order other specialty foods as your pet requires.

Emergency Services

Our hospital provides limited 24 hour emergency services for our clients. In case of an after-hours emergency, call the clinic number (812-273-6668) to receive a recorded message giving the home number of the doctor on call. If our doctor is not immediately accessible, leave a message on their home phone and you will be contacted within one hour. If your need is extremely urgent, you may contact the 24 hour animal emergency hospital in Louisville at 502-244-3036 or another local veterinarian.

Boarding & Baths

We offer a veterinarian supervised boarding kennel that is clean, spacious and climate controlled for the comfort of our clients pets. Our staff maintains daily records of the well-being of each animal and all dogs are individually exercised twice daily. We require all pets boarding in the kennels to be current on all vaccinations and free of fleas.

Pet Supplies

As a service to our clients, we maintain an inventory of quality pet supplies in our showroom. Our knowledgeable staff can help you select the proper products for flea and tick control, dental care, skin and hair-coat needs, training crates, carriers, collars, and other pet care products.
